How to choose

Size by watts, not just VA

Add up the wattage of everything the UPS must carry, then pick a model whose watt rating clears that total with headroom — not just the VA rating. XPC online models in this collection run at or near unity power factor on the larger units (for example the T91i-3000 is rated 3,000 VA / 3,000 W), so VA and watts are close on those models. On the 120V units the watt figure trails the VA (T91-2000 = 2,000 VA / 1,930 W; T91-3000 = 3,000 VA / 2,880 W), so always confirm the watt column.

Runtime expectations

Internal batteries give ride-through for a clean shutdown. When you need minutes-to-hours of runtime, these online families accept stackable extended-runtime battery packs (the T91-BP, J90-EBP, BPXR and TX91-BP packs listed in this collection), and the TX91L long-runtime models ship configured for extended autonomy. Plan runtime around the actual load, not the maximum rating — a unit loaded to half capacity runs considerably longer than one at full load.

Standard online vs. isolated (TX91)

Every UPS in this collection is online double-conversion — the output is fully regenerated with zero transfer time, best for sensitive servers, storage, medical, telecom, and industrial controls. The TX91 isolated models add a built-in isolation transformer for noisy or grounding-sensitive environments; TX91L variants are configured for long runtime and TX91-XR for extended runtime. The TXVR units are voltage regulators for sites with chronic over/under-voltage.

Rack vs. tower

Most T91 and P91 models in this collection are tower/rack convertible, so the same unit mounts upright on the floor or horizontally in a rack. The larger TX91 isolated and TXVR units are rack-oriented.

What is the difference between the T91 and P91 series?

Both are online double-conversion UPS systems with zero transfer time and fully conditioned output. The T91 family covers the smaller 700 VA–3,000 VA range (largely 120V), while the P91 family scales up through 5,000–10,000 VA rack systems and includes the P91g Lithium-Ion models.

How big a UPS do I need?

Total the wattage of the equipment you are protecting and choose a model whose watt rating clears that total with headroom. On the larger online XPC models VA and watts are close (near unity power factor); on the 120V T91 units the watt rating is a little lower than the VA, so size to watts.

Can I extend the runtime?

Yes. These online families accept stackable extended-runtime battery packs (the T91-BP, J90-EBP, BPXR and TX91-BP packs in this collection), and the TX91L models are configured for long runtime. Runtime scales with the number of packs and the actual load on the unit.

Are lithium-ion options available?
