About Delta Electronics RT Series UPS Systems
Delta RT Series UPS Systems
The Delta RT Series is a family of single-phase, online double-conversion uninterruptible power supplies built for servers, network closets, edge sites, medical equipment, and other always-on loads. Every model in the series delivers a continuous pure sine wave output with zero transfer time, and ships in a single rack/tower convertible chassis so the same unit can be racked in a cabinet or stood vertically beside equipment. Within Delta's Amplon family of single-phase protection, the RT line sits at the true online (double-conversion) tier, the highest level of power conditioning Delta offers for this power band.
The series ranges from a compact 1 kVA / 900 W unit suitable for a single server or small network rack, up to a 10 kVA / 10 kW unit sized for dense racks and small data rooms. Because every RT model is online double-conversion, the load is always fed from the inverter, so connected equipment is fully isolated from sags, surges, frequency drift, and outages.

How to choose
Size by watts, not just VA. A UPS is rated in both volt-amps (VA) and watts (W). Your real ceiling is the watt figure, because modern IT loads draw close to their watt rating. Total the watts of everything you want to protect, then pick a model whose watt rating comfortably exceeds that total (a common rule of thumb is to leave 20-25% headroom for growth and inrush). On the larger RT models the VA and watt figures are equal (unity power factor), so a 5 kVA unit really does deliver 5000 W.
Plan your runtime. The internal batteries give you enough time to ride through short outages or shut down gracefully. Every RT model in this series is extended-runtime capable, so if you need minutes to hours of backup you can add matching external battery packs (the BBU models listed below) rather than buying a larger UPS.
Topology. The entire RT Series is online double-conversion, the most protective topology available. Unlike line-interactive units that switch to battery only when power fails, an online UPS continuously rebuilds the output waveform, so there is zero transfer time and your equipment never sees raw utility power. This is the right choice for servers, storage, medical, and lab equipment that is sensitive to power quality.
Rack vs tower. Every RT model is rack/tower convertible, so you do not have to decide at purchase time. Rack-mount it in a 19-inch cabinet, or stand it as a tower next to a workstation or in a closet, using the same chassis.
Why this series
- True online double-conversion protection across the entire 1-10 kVA range, with zero transfer time.
- Continuous pure sine wave output, safe for servers, active PFC power supplies, and sensitive electronics.
- One rack/tower convertible chassis per model, simplifying deployment and spares.
- Extended-runtime capable on every model, with matching external battery packs for longer backup.
- Optional SNMP card for network monitoring and remote management.

Frequently asked questions
Are all Delta RT Series models online double-conversion?
Yes. Every model in this series uses online double-conversion topology with a pure sine wave output and zero transfer time, so the load is always powered through the inverter.
Can I rack-mount these, or use them as a tower?
Both. Every RT model in this range is rack/tower convertible, using the same chassis either way.
How do I size the right model?
Add up the wattage of the equipment you want to protect and choose a model whose watt rating exceeds that total with room to spare. On the larger RT units VA and watts are equal, so a 6 kVA model delivers 6000 W.
Can I get longer battery runtime?
Yes. Every model in this series is extended-runtime capable. Add the matching external battery pack (the BBU models in this collection) to extend backup time without changing the UPS.
Do these ship from within Canada?
Yes. We stock and ship genuine Delta RT Series units from our Canadian warehouse.
