The Eaton 5PX (and the newer 5PX G2) is a line-interactive network/server UPS in rack and tower form, typically 1000–2200 VA. Battery type and how it scales

The 5PX line uses 12 V VRLA modules — commonly 7.2 Ah on the RT2U and G2 models and 9 Ah on some 2200 VA models. The module count scales with the VA rating, and EBMs extend runtime. Capacity differs between generations, so match the battery to your exact model number (e.g. 5PX1500RT2U, 5PX1000RTG2, 5PX2200RT) rather than by VA alone.

How to replace

5PX battery modules are hot-swappable — the UPS keeps protecting the load:

1. Confirm the correct battery for your model.
2. Open the front bezel and release the battery tray.
3. Disconnect the battery connector.
4. Slide the old module out and the new one in.
5. Reconnect until secure and run a self-test.
