CyberPower's Ecologic series is a line of compact standby (offline) UPS systems for home offices, desktops, and networking gear, spanning 450 VA / 260 W to 850 VA / 510 W in a small tower form factor. Genuine CyberPower, shipped from our Canadian warehouse.
The CyberPower Ecologic (EC) series is a family of compact standby (offline) UPS systems built for desktops, home offices, home-theatre setups, and small networking gear (routers, modems, NAS, and IP cameras). These units deliver battery backup and surge protection when the power dips or fails, while their ECO-control outlets cut standby (vampire) power draw from connected peripherals to trim energy use. In CyberPower's lineup, Ecologic sits at the entry level: it is the budget-friendly, energy-conscious tier below the line-interactive Intelligent LCD (CP-series) and the pure sine wave PFC Sinewave (PFCLCD) families. Capacities run from 450 VA / 260 W up to 850 VA / 510 W, all in a small tower (mini-tower) chassis with a 120 VAC output and a simulated sine wave during battery operation. If you are protecting a single workstation, a modem/router, or a small entertainment system rather than a server rack, this is the series to size from.
| Model | VA / W | Topology | Form factor | Runtime ½ / full | Outlets |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| EC450G | 450 VA / 260 W | Standby | Tower (mini) | 6.0 min / 2.0 min | 8 × NEMA 5-15R |
| EC550G | 550 VA / 330 W | Standby | Tower (mini) | 8.0 min / 2.0 min | NEMA 5-15R |
| EC650LCD | 650 VA / 390 W | Standby | Tower (mini) | 8.4 min / 2.8 min | NEMA 5-15R |
| EC750G | 750 VA / 450 W | Standby | Tower (mini) | 10.0 min / 2.8 min | NEMA 5-15R |
| EC850LCD | 850 VA / 510 W | Standby | Tower (mini) | 7.9 min / 2.3 min | 12 × NEMA 5-15R |
All five Ecologic models are listed below — see the full range for current pricing and stock.
VA vs. watts. A UPS is rated two ways: volt-amps (VA) and watts (W). Watts is the figure that matters for real load — add up the wattage of everything you want backed up and make sure it stays under the model's watt rating. The Ecologic series ranges from 260 W (EC450G) to 510 W (EC850LCD), so a typical desktop plus a monitor and a modem/router usually fits comfortably in the middle of the range.
Runtime expectations. Standby UPS units like these are designed for ride-through — enough runtime to save your work and shut down cleanly, not to run for hours. At half load these models give roughly 6 to 10 minutes, and 2 to 3 minutes at full load. If you load a unit lighter than its maximum, you get noticeably more runtime; size up a model if you need more headroom.
Topology. Every Ecologic model uses standby (offline) topology: it runs your equipment on filtered utility power and switches to battery within milliseconds when the power fails. This is the right, cost-effective choice for desktops and small electronics. If you are running equipment that is sensitive to voltage sags — or that needs constant automatic voltage regulation — look at a line-interactive series instead; for mission-critical servers, a double-conversion online UPS is the appropriate tier. The Ecologic series does not include rack-mount options; all models ship as compact towers.
Ecologic units carry a CyberPower 3-year limited warranty covering the unit and its internal battery, backed by a Connected Equipment Guarantee. We ship genuine CyberPower UPS systems from our Canadian warehouse, with Canadian support and no cross-border duties or surprise brokerage fees.
When the internal battery eventually wears out (typically after a few years of service), you don't need to replace the whole unit — see our CyberPower replacement batteries hub for the correct cartridge, and browse everything we carry on the CyberPower brand page.
Is the Ecologic series line-interactive or standby?
All Ecologic (EC) models are standby (offline) UPS systems. They run equipment on utility power and switch to battery when the power fails. For automatic voltage regulation on every cycle, choose a line-interactive series instead.
How much runtime will I get?
These units are sized for ride-through, not extended runtime — roughly 6 to 10 minutes at half load and 2 to 3 minutes at full load, depending on the model. Lighter loads extend runtime; heavier loads shorten it.
Can I size by watts?
Yes — total the wattage of the devices you want backed up and keep it under the model's watt rating (260 W to 510 W across the series). Watts, not VA, is the figure that determines whether your load fits.
Does it have a pure sine wave output?
No. The Ecologic series outputs a simulated (stepped) sine wave on battery, which is well suited to standard desktop power supplies and small electronics. If you have equipment that specifically requires pure sine wave, choose a PFC Sinewave model.
What happens when the battery wears out?
The battery is replaceable — you don't replace the whole UPS. Find the correct cartridge on our CyberPower replacement batteries hub.
