Compatible 12V sealed lead-acid replacement battery kits for the Eaton (Powerware) EX series of line-interactive UPS systems. Match your exact model number to the right kit, and check the product page for the specific amp-hour rating. Every order is shipped from our Canadian warehouse.
The Eaton EX series (originally sold under the Powerware brand) is an online double-conversion UPS family available in rack/tower (RT) and tower (T) form factors, with optional extended battery modules (EBMs) for longer runtime. Over time the internal sealed lead-acid batteries lose capacity and need replacing to keep your UPS protecting connected equipment. The kits in this collection are compatible aftermarket replacements built to the original battery specification for each EX model.
Every EX-series battery is a 12V sealed lead-acid (SLA / VRLA) cell. A UPS reaches its DC bus voltage by wiring several 12V batteries in series, and a kit may contain multiple batteries depending on the model. The per-cell amp-hour (Ah) rating in this series is typically 7.2Ah or 9.0Ah depending on the exact unit, so capacity is not uniform across every model. We do not list a single blanket Ah figure for the whole collection — instead, confirm the rating on the individual product page, which shows the exact voltage, amp-hour rating, and battery count for that kit.
The single most reliable way to order the correct kit is to match the exact model designation printed on your UPS — for example EX1000, EX1500RT2U, EX2200RT3U, EX3000RT2U, or an EBM variant such as EX 1500R EBM. Suffixes like RT, 2U, 3U, T, R and EBM all matter: they distinguish rack vs. tower builds and internal vs. extended battery packs that use different battery counts. Find your model on the front bezel or rear label, then select the matching product. The product grid shows the specifications for each kit so you can confirm before you buy.
You have two paths when replacing UPS batteries: a genuine Eaton replacement battery cartridge, or a compatible aftermarket kit. Genuine OEM cartridges arrive in factory housings and may carry the manufacturer's own warranty. Compatible aftermarket kits use the same cell chemistry, voltage and amp-hour rating to meet the original specification, usually at a lower price. Both restore runtime when the battery is correctly matched to the model. The kits here are compatible aftermarket replacements.
Sealed lead-acid UPS batteries typically last 3 to 5 years before capacity falls far enough that they need replacing. Heat is the biggest factor in that range. As a rule of thumb, every roughly 8°C (about 15°F) of sustained temperature above 25°C (77°F) can cut SLA battery life roughly in half. Keep the UPS in a cool, ventilated location, away from heat sources, to get the most out of a new battery. If your UPS is more than three years old, beeping, or reporting reduced runtime, it is likely time to replace the battery.
General steps:
Hot-swap note: Eaton designed the EX series with user-replaceable, hot-swappable batteries across both its tower and rack/tower (RT) configurations, so on a healthy unit the battery can usually be changed from the front while the UPS continues to power the load. Always follow the procedure in your unit's manual, handle only one battery string at a time, and verify the connections are fully seated. If your UPS shows a fault, will not stay online, or you are unsure whether the load can ride through the swap, shut the UPS down and disconnect the load before changing the battery.
How do I know which battery kit fits my UPS?
Match the exact model number on your UPS label (including RT/T/2U/3U/EBM suffixes) to the product title, then confirm the voltage and amp-hour rating shown on that product page.
Are these the same as genuine Eaton batteries?
These are compatible aftermarket kits built to the original battery specification (same 12V SLA chemistry and matched amp-hour rating). They are not sold as genuine OEM cartridges.
How long will a new battery last?
Typically 3 to 5 years, shorter in hot environments. Sustained heat above 25°C shortens life significantly.
Can I replace the battery without shutting down the UPS?
The EX series is built with hot-swappable batteries, so on a healthy unit you can generally replace them while the UPS keeps running the load — follow your manual and work one battery string at a time. If the unit is faulting or you are unsure, power it down and disconnect the load first.

Replacement battery cartridges and EBM (Extended Battery Module) packs for Eaton EX Series UPS systems. The EX line is Eaton's mid-range double-conversion online UPS for server rooms and small data center loads. Models supported include EX 700, EX 1000, EX 1500, EX 2200, EX 3000, EX 1500R, EX 3000R-2U, EX 1500RT, EX 2200RT, EX 3000RT-2U and rack/tower convertible variants.
Most EX cartridges follow Eaton's modular hot-swap design — two or three SLA cells per kit (12V 7Ah / 9Ah depending on capacity). Recommended swap window: 3-5 years per IEEE 1188; rack-mount EX systems often run hotter and benefit from earlier replacement.
