About Xtreme Power Conversion UPS Batteries

What is an XPC UPS replacement battery?

Most Xtreme Power Conversion UPS use sealed lead-acid (SLA) cells in a defined cartridge or string configuration — replaceable as a unit when the cells reach end of service life (typically 3–5 years in 20–25 °C ambient). UPSPLUSBATTERY.CA stocks compatible aftermarket cartridges and replacement strings across the SLA range — A60, S71, P80, P80g, T91, T91i, P91, P91c, P91g, P91 5–10 kVA, TX91, and the M90 / X90 modular battery cabinets — all built to identical voltage, capacity, terminal, and connector spec as factory cells.

All replacement cartridges in stock are compatible aftermarket — not OEM XPC. Same V, Ah, terminal, connector. 1-year full-replacement UPSPLUSBATTERY warranty. Lithium UPS series (J60, J60C, J90, P91 Li, Li90) use factory-matched LiFePO₄ packs only — UPSPLUSBATTERY.CA does not stock aftermarket lithium replacements because BMS firmware must match the UPS at manufacture. For runtime extension via external battery pack rather than cartridge replacement, see XPC battery packs. For full XPC catalog see Xtreme Power Conversion.

How to identify the right cartridge

Method 1: UPS model number

Cartridge spec is fixed per UPS model. Check the UPS chassis label (rear or side panel) for the model number — e.g. "P91-1500". Match to our cartridge listings, or contact our team with the model number — replies within 1 business day.

Method 2: existing cartridge label

Open the front battery door and read the label on the existing cartridge. Lists cell count, voltage, and Ah — e.g. "4× 12 V 9 Ah". Match to the same cell configuration in stock.

Method 3: front-panel readout

Most P80, P91, P91g, T91, J90 LCD panels report battery voltage and current state of health. The voltage readout confirms how many 12 V cells are in series — useful when the cartridge label is illegible.

When to replace

Replace at the 3-year mark on A60 / S71 SLA, the 3–4 year mark on P80 / T91 / P91 / TX91 / M90 / X90 SLA — earlier if any of: self-test fails, runtime at full load drops below 50 % of new, front panel flags battery, cartridge case is bulged, or terminals show corrosion. Above 25 °C ambient, every 10 °C halves life — hot rack environments need closer to 3-year cycle. Read when to replace UPS battery for the full procedure.

Installation

Most XPC SLA cartridges replace via tool-less front-access door — UPS continues to power the load on bypass during the swap on hot-swap-rated models (most P80, P91, T91 above 1 kVA). On smaller A60 and S71, brief load transfer to bypass is required. Disconnect old cartridge connector, slide out, slide new one in, reconnect. Cycle a self-test from the front panel afterward to confirm. Step-by-step in how to install UPS battery.

Aftermarket disclosure

The cartridges UPSPLUSBATTERY.CA stocks are compatible aftermarket replacements — built to identical V, Ah, terminal, and connector spec as factory XPC cells. They are not OEM XPC parts. They are tested in our facility to factory spec and carry a 1-year full-replacement UPSPLUSBATTERY warranty. For sites that require strictly OEM cartridges (some compliance frameworks specify this), contact our team and we will source factory XPC where available.

Lithium pack disclosure

UPSPLUSBATTERY.CA does not stock aftermarket lithium replacements for any XPC lithium series (J60, J60C, J90, J90i, P91 Li, P91g Li, Li90). Lithium-pack BMS firmware is matched to the UPS at manufacture; aftermarket lithium cannot meet the safety and certification requirements. For lithium replacements or end-of-life lithium service, contact our team and we will route to factory XPC.

Warranty and support

1-year full-replacement UPSPLUSBATTERY warranty on aftermarket SLA cartridges — defective unit replaced with no charge during the warranty term. Shipped from our Canadian warehouse — see shipping policy for rates and timing. RMA does not require cross-border shipping. Replies within 1 business day on cartridge cross-reference questions.

FAQ

How do I know which cartridge fits my XPC?

Check the UPS chassis label for model number, OR open the front battery door and read the cartridge label. Send the model number to our team and we will cross-reference — replies within 1 business day.

Aftermarket vs OEM — what's the difference?

OEM XPC cartridges are factory-built and branded. Aftermarket cartridges from UPSPLUSBATTERY.CA use the same cell spec, terminal, and connector — but are not factory-branded. Performance and life expectancy are equivalent. Aftermarket pricing is typically lower per cartridge.

How long does the replacement cartridge last?

Same as factory SLA — 3–5 years in climate-controlled (20–25 °C) environment, closer to 3 years in hot ambient. Lithium packs (J60 / J90 / P91 Li / Li90): up to 15 years rated by XPC, factory parts only.

Can I install it myself?

Yes — most XPC use tool-less front-access. Cartridge ships with installation instructions. Hot-swappable on most P80 / P91 / T91 1.5 kVA+ — UPS continues to protect load during swap. Battery install guide.

Do you stock lithium replacements?

Not aftermarket. Lithium-pack BMS firmware is matched to the UPS at manufacture; aftermarket lithium cannot meet the safety and certification requirements. We can source factory XPC lithium replacements on request — contact our team.

Do I have to replace all cells in a cartridge at once?

Yes — never mix old and new SLA cells in a series string. The weakest cell defines the cartridge's capacity, and a new cell paired with old cells will be over-discharged on every cycle. Replace the full cartridge.

What's the warranty on the cartridge itself?

1-year full-replacement UPSPLUSBATTERY warranty on aftermarket cartridges. Defective cartridge replaced at no charge during the warranty term.
