The APC Smart-UPS SRT (also branded Smart-UPS On-Line) is APC by Schneider Electric's double-conversion, online UPS family for loads where the equipment cannot tolerate any transfer time or raw utility power. Unlike line-interactive UPS systems, these units continuously rebuild a clean output from DC, delivering a pure sine wave output and full isolation from input voltage and frequency disturbances. The SRT range sits at the top of the Smart-UPS lineup, above the line-interactive Smart-UPS (SMT/SMX) models, and is built for server rooms, network closets, medical and industrial equipment, and other always-on, sensitive loads. This collection covers genuine APC SRT and SURT On-Line systems from roughly 2,200 VA / 1,980 W up to 10,000 VA / 10,000 W, in tower, rack-mount, and tower/rack convertible designs, including 230 V, 208 V, and 120 V (step-down transformer) output variants.

How to choose

Size by watts, not just VA. A UPS has two ratings: VA (apparent power) and watts (real power). Your equipment's real power draw, in watts, is the figure that matters most for sizing. On the SRT On-Line series the watt and VA ratings are close (for example 6,000 VA / 6,000 W), but always total the wattage of everything you plan to plug in and leave headroom. Pick a model whose watt rating comfortably exceeds your connected load.

Plan your runtime. The internal-battery runtimes in the table are short by design - these units are intended to ride through brief outages and support a clean, orderly shutdown or generator start, not hours of operation. Every model in this collection is extended-runtime capable, so you can add matching SRT battery packs to reach the runtime your application needs.

Topology - why On-Line. The entire SRT range is online double-conversion. This is a step above the line-interactive topology used in standard Smart-UPS models: there is no transfer time, and the output is fully regenerated, which protects sensitive servers, storage, network gear, and medical or lab equipment from frequency and voltage anomalies.

Rack vs tower. Choose a rack-mount model (2U through 6U) for data-centre and network-rack installations, a tower model for standalone equipment rooms, or a tower/rack convertible model when you want the flexibility to deploy either way. Match the output voltage (230 V, 208 V, or 120 V via step-down) to your facility's power.
