About CyberPower CPS Series Replacement Batteries

CyberPower CPS series replacement batteries

The CyberPower CPS series — including CPS325SL, CPS450, CPS525SL, CPS725SL, CPS825AVR and the CPS1500AVR — covers standby and AVR line-interactive UPS for desktops and small offices. Its sealed lead-acid (VRLA) battery wears out after about 3–5 years; a fresh battery restores full runtime. Use this page to find the right battery for your exact CPS model.

For the full range see CyberPower replacement batteries.

Battery type

CPS models use 12 V VRLA batteries — smaller units (e.g. CPS325SL, CPS525SL, CPS825AVR) use a single 12 V battery (capacity from about 4.5 Ah to 9 Ah by model), while the CPS1500AVR uses two 12 V batteries wired to 24 V. Match by your exact model number rather than by VA alone.

How to identify the right battery

Find the model number on the rear or bottom label (e.g. CPS1500AVR). Select the matching battery below, or send us your model number and we'll confirm the correct pack — usually within 1 business day.

Genuine vs compatible aftermarket

Both restore full runtime. Compatible aftermarket 12 V batteries match the OEM form factor and terminals, built from quality VRLA cells, and cost less, with a 1-year UPSPLUSBATTERY warranty.

How long does it last?

3–5 years at 20–25 °C; heat roughly halves life for every ~8 °C above 25 °C. See when to replace a UPS battery.

How to replace

CPS batteries are user-replaceable:

  1. Confirm the correct battery for your model.
  2. Power down and unplug the UPS.
  3. Open the battery compartment on the base or rear.
  4. Disconnect the old battery and remove it.
  5. Fit the new battery (or pair), reconnect observing polarity, and close the compartment.
  6. Recharge and run a self-test.

FAQ

What battery does my CPS UPS use?

A single 12 V battery on smaller models, or two 12 V batteries (24 V) on the CPS1500AVR. Capacity varies by model — match by model number.

Genuine or aftermarket?

A compatible 12 V battery performs identically to the original for less, with a 1-year warranty.

How often should I replace it?

Every 3–5 years; sooner in warm spaces.

Most CPS-series UPS use CyberPower RB-series cartridges — RB0690X2 for compact units, RB1270X2 for mid-tier, and RB1290X2 / RB1290X4 for larger CPS-AVR models. Always confirm the RB-XXXX code printed on the existing battery before ordering. CPS units are user-serviceable.

Recommended swap interval: 3-5 years per IEEE 1188. Compact CPS units in cabinet enclosures often run hot — monitor the battery temperature warning LED and consider earlier replacement if your environment exceeds 25°C. Validate runtime before swap.
