How to choose

Size by VA and watts. The Galaxy 3500 is rated in kVA (apparent power). Add up the load of everything you need to protect, then leave 20-25% headroom so the UPS is not running at 100%. A 10 kVA frame suits smaller server/network rooms; 20-30 kVA frames suit larger centralized loads. If your equipment lists watts only, remember kVA is always equal to or larger than the kW figure.

Expect runtime to depend on battery build. Within the same kVA, runtime changes with the battery configuration: across this series a 10 kVA unit ranges from roughly 38.8 minutes to 56.3 minutes at full load, while a 30 kVA unit runs about 5.7 to 9.8 minutes at full load. Every model here is extended-runtime capable, so additional battery modules can lengthen hold-up time. Pick the build whose full-load runtime covers your generator start or graceful-shutdown window.

Topology. The entire Galaxy 3500 series is online double-conversion. Unlike line-interactive designs, a double-conversion UPS continuously rebuilds the output as a clean pure sine wave, fully isolating sensitive loads from mains disturbances - the standard for centralized and mission-critical protection.

Form factor. These are floor-standing tower units with hard-wire 5-wire input/output (120 V / 208 V), intended for permanent electrical installation rather than plug-in rack use.
