The Tripp Lite BC series is a line of standby (and one line-interactive) battery backup UPS systems from 350 VA / 210 W up to 1500 VA / 1050 W, in desktop/tower, wall-mountable and rackmount 1U form factors. Genuine Tripp Lite, shipped from our Canadian warehouse.
The Tripp Lite BC series is the brand's entry- to mid-tier battery backup line, built for desktops, point-of-sale terminals, networking gear, small servers and other single-device or small-cluster loads. Most BC models use a standby (offline) topology with a simulated/PWM sine-wave output, which keeps the price down while still delivering surge protection and enough runtime to ride through brief outages or shut down equipment gracefully. The range spans roughly 350 VA / 210 W up to 1500 VA / 1050 W and is offered in tower/desktop (some wall-mountable), rackmount 1U, and tower/rack-convertible form factors. All units in this collection output 120 V North American power through NEMA 5-15R outlets. If you need always-on double-conversion protection for sensitive or mission-critical loads, the BC series sits below Tripp Lite's line-interactive SMART and online SU/SV families — this series is aimed at cost-effective backup for everyday equipment.

Size by watts, not just VA. The VA rating is the apparent-power headline number, but your real constraint is the wattage (real power). Add up the watt draw of everything you plan to plug in and pick a model whose wattage rating comfortably exceeds it — aim to load the UPS to no more than about 70–80% so you keep runtime headroom. In the BC range, wattage runs from 210 W (BC350) to 1050 W (BC1500RT1ULNC).
Set runtime expectations. Standby UPS systems in this class are designed to bridge short outages and allow a clean shutdown, not to run equipment for long periods. The half-load runtimes here are in the 5–12 minute range; at full load they drop to a couple of minutes. If you need longer hold-up, size up in VA/W or step to a line-interactive or online family.
Standby vs line-interactive. Most BC models are standby: they pass utility power through and switch to battery when the supply fails. The BC600TU in this collection is line-interactive, which adds automatic voltage regulation (AVR) to correct brownouts and over-voltage without draining the battery — useful where mains power is unstable.
Rack vs tower. Choose a tower/desktop unit (several are wall-mountable) for under-desk, counter or shelf placement. Choose a rackmount 1U model (BC1000RT1ULNC, BC1500RT1ULNC) or the tower/rack-convertible BC500RT1ULNC if the UPS lives in a server rack or network cabinet.
Every BC series UPS in this collection is genuine Tripp Lite stock, shipped from our Canadian warehouse with Canadian-dollar pricing — no cross-border surprises or customs delays. Manufacturer warranty coverage ranges from 2 to 5 years depending on model (see the individual product page for the exact term). Our team can help you size the right unit for your load before you buy.
When the battery in your BC unit eventually wears out, you don't need to replace the whole UPS — see our Tripp Lite replacement battery collection for the correct cartridge, and browse everything we carry on the Tripp Lite brand page.
Is the BC series standby or line-interactive?
Most BC models are standby (offline) UPS systems. The BC600TU in this collection is line-interactive and adds automatic voltage regulation. The topology for each unit is listed on its product page.
What size BC UPS do I need?
Total the wattage of the equipment you'll connect and choose a model whose wattage rating clears that total with room to spare (load to about 70–80% for runtime headroom). BC wattage ratings range from 210 W up to 1050 W.
How long will a BC UPS run during an outage?
These are short-bridge units. Half-load runtimes here are roughly 5–12 minutes and full-load runtimes are about 0.5–3 minutes, enough to ride out brief interruptions or shut down cleanly. For longer hold-up, size up or choose a higher family.
Can I rack-mount a BC UPS?
Yes — the BC1000RT1ULNC and BC1500RT1ULNC are rackmount 1U, and the BC500RT1ULNC is tower/rack convertible. The remaining models are tower/desktop, several with wall-mount options.
What does the "NC" in models like BC600RNC mean?
The "NC" (network/cloud) variants add cloud-connected remote monitoring and management, letting you watch and control the UPS over the network.
