What is an XPC standby UPS?
Standby (offline) UPS topology runs the load directly from utility power and switches to battery only during an outage or out-of-tolerance event. Right fit for desktop, point-of-sale, digital signage, kiosk, network edge, and small-office equipment.
XPC's standby catalog has two distinct lines: lithium-based J60 / J60C / J60i / J60Ci for sites that need long battery service life and high-temperature tolerance (digital signage, kiosks, hot equipment closets), and SLA-based A60 for traditional home and small-office workstation protection. J60 / J60C lithium specs: rated up to 15 years or 3,000–5,000 discharge cycles, operating to 50 °C (122 °F) with derating above 40 °C, up to 7 minutes runtime at full load on J60 / 6 minutes on J60C. Standard 5-year factory warranty (USA and Canada) on electronics and battery — 2-year warranty when ambient sits between 40 °C and 50 °C. UL or CE, RoHS, TAA compliant.
How to choose
Lithium J60 vs SLA A60
J60 / J60C wins for long-deployment digital-signage / kiosk / unattended sites — 15-year battery life and 50 °C operating range eliminate truck rolls in environments where SLA fails fast. A60 wins for budget home / small-office workstation protection where the deployment is cool, attended, and short-horizon — sticker price is significantly lower and 3-year SLA service life is acceptable.
Form factor
J60 / J60i: ultra-slim brick (under 1.6" H). Hides behind monitors, mounts on the back of digital signage. J60C / J60Ci: 1U rack or wall-mount, 8.5" depth — fits tight closets and short-depth racks. A60-550 / A60-850: compact tower, also wall-mountable. Touch LCD and USB charging port included on A60-850 only.

A60 ships with USB shutdown communication and includes XPC's $25,000 connected-equipment Load Protection Policy. UL, cUL, Energy Star, TAA compliant. Optional external SNMP-USB card for network monitoring.
Replacement batteries
A60 SLA cartridges in stock are compatible aftermarket replacements — built to identical V, Ah, terminal, and connector spec as factory cells. 1-year UPSPLUSBATTERY warranty. All XPC standby plug-and-play on standard 120 V 5-15P (J60i / J60Ci use IEC C14 inlet for 230 V regions). Warranty (USA and Canada): J60 / J60C 5 years electronics/battery, derated to 2 years above 40 °C ambient. A60 3 years electronics/battery, with optional 5-year extended warranty (A605SP). FAQ
Why pay extra for J60 lithium over A60 SLA?
15-year rated battery service life vs 3-year SLA, 50 °C operating range vs ~25 °C climate-controlled. For a digital-signage deployment, kiosk fleet, or POS rollout where the unit lives in a hot enclosure or behind a display, J60 typically pays back through avoided battery replacement and truck rolls.
Where does J60C 1U fit?
J60C is the 1U rack-mount lithium standby — 8.5" deep, fits short-depth network closets and patch cabinets. Wall-mount-capable for closets without rack space. The J60Ci 230 V variant uses IEC C14 inlet for international cabling.
What's the J60 runtime?
Up to 7 minutes at full load on J60-350 / 600. Up to 6 minutes at full load on J60C-600. Higher at partial loads — full runtime tables ship with the unit and are available on request.
Is the J60 lithium pack replaceable?
By XPC at end-of-life, yes — but the 15-year rated service life means most deployments retire the UPS before the pack. UPSPLUSBATTERY.CA does not stock aftermarket lithium replacements for J60 — chemistry, BMS, and certification require factory XPC parts.
Can the A60 protect a server?
Generally no. A60 is designed for desktop, POS, and small-office workstation. For a rack server or networking, step up to S71 or P80 line-interactive or T91 / P91 online.
Network monitoring on standby?
A60 ships with USB. Optional external SNMP-USB card adds web/SNMP for environments that monitor UPS via NMS. J60 / J60C support optional SNMP-2PV3 internal card for network-level monitoring.
