The Eaton 5SC is a line-interactive, pure sine wave tower UPS series spanning 500 VA / 350 W to 1500 VA / 1050 W, built to protect workstations, network gear, and point-of-sale systems. Every unit is genuine Eaton, shipped from our Canadian warehouse.
The Eaton 5SC is a line-interactive tower UPS series designed for high-end workstations, small servers, network equipment, retail point-of-sale, and small-business infrastructure. It sits in the heart of Eaton's single-phase backup lineup — a clear step up from the entry-level 5S consumer series, with a graphical LCD, true pure sine wave output, and Eaton's 3-year warranty (including batteries). The range covers 500 VA up to 1500 VA, so you can size a single unit to a desk, a rack of switches, or a checkout counter without overbuying.

The “G” variants (5SC750G, 5SC1500G) are the 230 V / IEC-outlet international versions; the plain models are 120 V North-American units. Browse the full range below for current pricing and availability.
Size by watts, not just VA. A UPS carries two ratings — volt-amps (VA) and watts (W). Your equipment's real power draw is measured in watts, so add up the wattage of everything you want to protect and pick a model whose watt rating comfortably exceeds that total. Across the 5SC range that means 350 W (5SC500) up to 1050 W (5SC1500 / 5SC1500G). Leaving ~20–30% headroom keeps the UPS efficient and extends battery life.
Set runtime expectations. The 5SC is built for ride-through and graceful shutdown, not for running through long outages. Expect roughly 12–13 minutes at half load and about 5 minutes at full load on the internal batteries — enough to survive brief utility blips and cleanly shut down servers and workstations. These are sealed internal-battery tower units; they are not designed for external extended-battery modules, so size for the runtime you need on day one.
Topology. The entire 5SC series is line-interactive with automatic voltage regulation (AVR) and pure sine wave output. Line-interactive is the right fit for desktops, network closets, and POS where you want clean power and surge/sag correction without the cost of a full double-conversion online UPS. If you run sensitive lab gear or need zero-transfer online (double-conversion) protection, look at Eaton's online series instead.
Tower form factor. Every 5SC is a compact tower, ideal for sitting under a desk, on a shelf, or in the corner of a small network room. There is no rack-mount option in this series — if you need rack ears, step up to a rack-capable Eaton family.
Eaton backs the 5SC with a 3-year warranty that includes the batteries. We stock these units in Canada and ship from our Canadian warehouse, so you skip cross-border duties, brokerage, and the long waits that come with importing. Questions on sizing or which model fits your load? Our team can help before you buy.
When the internal batteries reach end of life (typically 3–5 years), you can refresh the unit rather than replace it — see our Eaton replacement-battery collection for the correct cartridge for your 5SC model. To compare the 5SC against other Eaton families, visit the main Eaton UPS brand page.
Is the Eaton 5SC line-interactive or online?
Every model in the 5SC series is line-interactive with automatic voltage regulation and pure sine wave output. For double-conversion online protection, choose an online Eaton series.
How long will a 5SC run during a power outage?
Plan on roughly 12–13 minutes at half load and about 5 minutes at full load on the internal batteries. The 5SC is designed for ride-through and safe shutdown, not extended runtime.
Can I add an external battery pack for longer runtime?
The 5SC uses sealed internal batteries and is not designed for external extended-battery modules. Size the model to the runtime you need up front, or step up to a series that supports external battery packs.
What's the difference between the 5SC1500 and the 5SC1500G?
Both are 1500 VA / 1050 W line-interactive towers. The 5SC1500 is the 120 V North-American model; the 5SC1500G is the 230 V international version with eight IEC C13 outlets.
What does the 5SC protect best?
Workstations, small servers, network switches and routers, NAS units, and retail point-of-sale systems — anywhere you want clean, regulated power and a graceful shutdown window.
