How to identify your battery in 30 seconds

  1. Find the UPS model on the nameplate (rear panel, or the front pull-out tab on rackmounts) — e.g. SMT1500RM2U, 9PX1500RT, SMART1500LCD.
  2. Type it in the finder above. Our search resolves UPS models and OEM battery numbers directly against Canadian stock.
  3. Cross-check the sticker on your existing battery cartridge (RBC number on APC, 744-series on Eaton, RBC-prefixed on Tripp Lite) — searching that number works too.

Voltage and amp-hours must match exactly; dimensions matter on tray-mounted packs. Every battery we sell lists its specs on the product page — when in doubt, send us the model and a photo, we confirm fit before you order.

Common questions

What battery does my APC UPS take?

Find the model on the nameplate (e.g. SMT1500) and type it into the finder above — it returns the matching RBC cartridge or compatible pack from Canadian stock. The RBC number is also printed on your current cartridge's sticker.

Are compatible (non-OEM) batteries safe to use?

Yes — provided they match the OEM specification exactly (voltage, amp-hours, terminal type, dimensions) and use quality cells. Our compatible packs are assembled to OEM spec and load-tested; the UPS cannot tell the difference. OEM-branded cartridges remain available where you prefer them.

My UPS model isn't in your finder — now what?

Send the model (and a photo of the nameplate or current battery sticker) via the quote form — we identify the correct battery within 1 business day. Discontinued and legacy units are our specialty.

Do I replace the battery or the whole UPS?

If the UPS electronics are healthy and under ~10 years old, a new battery restores it — batteries age out at 3–5 years, the UPS itself lasts 10–15. See our guide on battery problems and solutions, or consider a refurbished replacement if the unit itself is failing.
