Every model in this collection delivers true online double-conversion with a pure sine wave output, so the load is always fed from a regenerated waveform rather than switched over to battery only when utility power fails. Within the Liebert lineup, ITA2 sits in the mid-power, single-cabinet tier: higher capacity than entry desktop/tower units, but more compact and self-contained than Vertiv's larger modular three-phase platforms. How to choose

VA versus watts. A UPS has two capacity limits and your load must fit under both. Volt-amps (VA) is the apparent-power ceiling; watts (W) is the real-power ceiling. The ratio between them is the unit's power factor. The 10 kVA model in this series is rated at 10,000 W (a unity-power-factor design), while the 8 kVA tower/rack-convertible unit is rated 7,200 W. Always check both numbers on the product page, size to the larger of your two requirements, and leave headroom for growth.

Runtime expectations. Published runtimes scale with load: each model runs longer at half load than at full load. For example, the 8 kVA convertible model is rated 33 minutes at half load and 13 minutes at full load, while the 10 kVA model is rated 21 minutes and 8 minutes respectively. If you need longer holdover, every model in this collection is extended-runtime capable and accepts additional battery cabinets.

Topology. The entire ITA2 series in this collection is online double-conversion. Unlike line-interactive designs, an online UPS continuously rebuilds the output waveform, isolating connected equipment from sags, surges, frequency drift, and brownouts. That makes it the right choice for sensitive servers, storage, network cores, and instrumentation that cannot tolerate transfer gaps.

Rack versus tower. Choose a rackmount 5U+ model when you are deploying into a standard server cabinet and want the UPS to live in the rack. Choose a tower/rack-convertible model when you need the flexibility to stand the unit on the floor in a closet or wiring room today and rack-mount it later.
