How the Liebert ITA2 compares

The rare three-phase UPS that lives IN the rack: where floor-standing families claim floor space, the ITA2 delivers 8–15 kVA three-phase in rack units — with a lithium-ion variant none of its stocked peers offer. Undecided between families? Start from the three-phase UPS family guide.

Runtime & expansion — batteries, cabinets, bypass

ITA2 runtime extends with matched external battery cabinets — including the stocked MPL lithium-ion cabinets — and the stocked maintenance bypass cabinet keeps service hitless:

Turnkey: from quote to running system

  1. Tell us the requirement — model or just load, runtime and site details.
  2. One configured quote — UPS, batteries/cabinets, bypass, freight, installation and commissioning together.
  3. We do the hard work — logistics, rigging, licensed electricians, startup, and preventive maintenance afterward. Replacing equipment? We buy back working units.

Common questions

Is the ITA2 really three-phase in a rack format?

Yes — three-phase 208 V input and output (4-wire) in a rack/tower convertible chassis, which is rare in this size class. It protects three-phase loads without a floor-standing system.

VRLA or lithium-ion ITA2?

Lithium costs more upfront but typically doubles battery calendar life, cuts weight and shrinks the footprint — compelling where rack space is tight or battery-swap labour is expensive. We stock both and quote both on request.

How do I extend ITA2 runtime?

Matched external battery cabinets — we stock the MPL lithium-ion cabinets in 1U and 2U pairs. Send your load and target minutes; we return the cabinet count.

What does the turnkey package include?

Supply, freight, rack integration or floor placement, licensed electrical connection, commissioning and battery configuration — one quote, one accountable team. We do the hard work.

How do pricing and lead time work on three-phase systems?

Three-phase systems are quoted, not carted: pricing depends on configuration, batteries, freight class and installation scope. Send the requirement and you get a firm, itemized quote — and honest availability for each option before you commit.

Do you supply and install outside major cities?

Yes — supply, freight and installation are coordinated wherever the site is, through our network of licensed electricians and riggers. Remote and industrial sites are quoted with site logistics included.

Frequently asked

Before you order

How do I know this UPS will run my equipment?

Add up the wattage draw of every device you'll plug in (servers, switches, monitors). The UPS's wattage rating — not VA — is the number that matters. Aim for the UPS to run at 60–70% of capacity at full load: this gives headroom for inrush current and a meaningful runtime margin. Email us your equipment list and we'll size the right UPS within one business hour.

What's covered by the warranty, and how long does it last?

New units carry the full manufacturer warranty registered to you on receipt. The manufacturer handles claims directly via their North American support channel. Refurbished units are covered by our own 1-year UPSPLUSBATTERY warranty handled in-house in Canada.

Can I extend runtime beyond what's shown above?

Many Smart-UPS-class models accept an external battery pack (XBP) connected to the rear battery port. If this UPS shows "Extended Runtime Capable: Yes" in the spec grid above, an XBP is supported. Compatible XBPs and the runtime gain they deliver vary by model — contact us if you don't see the right XBP in our catalogue.
