The Eaton 9SX is a true online double-conversion UPS series with pure sine wave output, spanning 700 VA / 630 W up to 3000 VA / 2700 W in tower, rack/tower-convertible, and 2U rackmount form factors. Genuine Eaton hardware, shipped from our Canadian warehouse.
The Eaton 9SX is Eaton's mid-range online double-conversion UPS line, built for IT, networking, light-industrial, automation, and medical environments where the load needs continuously regenerated, fully isolated power. Every model in this collection runs true online double-conversion topology with a pure sine wave output, delivering zero-transfer-time protection against the full range of power problems — not just outages, but sags, surges, and frequency variation. The series spans 700 VA / 630 W up to 3000 VA / 2700 W and is available in tower, rack/tower-convertible, and 2U rackmount form factors, so it sits above Eaton's line-interactive 5-series and below the larger 9PX / 9PXM systems in the lineup. Every 9SX in this range is extended-runtime capable, so you can add external battery modules to lengthen hold-up time.
The table below is built from the specifications of representative models in this collection. See the full range below for every variant, including hardwired and international (230 V) versions.

Size by watts, not just VA. A UPS carries two ratings — volt-amps (VA) and watts (W). Your equipment's real power draw is measured in watts, so add up the wattage of everything you intend to protect and choose a model whose watt rating comfortably exceeds that total. Across the 9SX range the power factor is consistent (for example, 1000 VA / 900 W, 3000 VA / 2700 W), so the watt figure is the number that matters for headroom.
Set your runtime expectation. The half-load and full-load runtimes in the table are the internal-battery figures. The lighter you load a given model relative to its capacity, the longer it runs — which is why a unit loaded to half capacity lasts several times longer than one loaded to full. Every 9SX in this series is extended-runtime capable, so if you need to ride through longer outages or bridge to a generator, you can add external battery modules rather than oversizing the UPS itself.
Topology — why online matters. The entire 9SX series is online double-conversion. Unlike line-interactive designs that switch to battery when the mains fails, an online UPS continuously rebuilds the output waveform from DC, so the connected load is fully isolated from incoming power quality and there is no transfer time. This is the right topology for servers, storage, network cores, medical devices, and automation equipment that are sensitive to voltage and frequency disturbances.
Rack vs tower. Choose a tower model for floor-standing or desk-side deployments. If the unit is going into a server cabinet, pick a rack/tower-convertible model (9SX1500G, 9SX2000) or a dedicated 2U rackmount (9SX1000IM, 9SX3000IM). Convertible chassis ship with both rack rails and tower stands so you can deploy either way.
9SX systems carry a manufacturer warranty of 3 years on the models in this range. Orders ship from our Canadian warehouse, so you avoid cross-border duties and brokerage and get faster delivery to Canadian addresses. Our team can help you size a unit, choose receptacles, and plan extended-runtime battery modules before you buy.

Is the Eaton 9SX an online or line-interactive UPS?
Every model in the 9SX series is true online double-conversion with pure sine wave output, so the load is continuously isolated from incoming power quality with zero transfer time.
What size 9SX do I need?
Add up the wattage of the equipment you want to protect and choose a model whose watt rating exceeds that total with headroom. The series runs from 630 W (9SX700) to 2700 W (3000 VA models).
Can I extend the runtime?
Yes. Every 9SX in this collection is extended-runtime capable, so you can connect external battery modules to lengthen hold-up time instead of buying a larger UPS.
Are rack and tower versions both available?
Yes. The series includes tower models, rack/tower-convertible models (such as the 9SX1500G and 9SX2000), and dedicated 2U rackmount units (9SX1000IM, 9SX3000IM).
Do these ship from Canada?
Yes. All 9SX systems ship from our Canadian warehouse, avoiding cross-border duties and brokerage on Canadian orders.
