VA vs. watts. A UPS is rated in both volt-amps (VA) and watts (W). Watts is the real power your equipment actually draws; VA is the apparent power. Size to your equipment's watt draw first and leave headroom, then confirm the VA rating also clears your load. Runtime expectations. The runtimes shown are at full load; a UPS run at half load typically lasts considerably longer. Topology. The two Pulsar units use online double-conversion, the most protective UPS topology: the output waveform is continuously regenerated, so there is no transfer time and connected gear sees clean, regulated, pure sine wave power at all times.
