Eaton online double-conversion UPS systems for critical loads, from a 1000 VA / 900 W Pulsar to a 7000 VA / 5000 W Powerware FERRUPS, in tower/rack-convertible and tower form factors. Genuine Eaton hardware, shipped from our Canadian warehouse.
This collection brings together Eaton's higher-protection UPS systems for loads that cannot tolerate a degraded waveform or an extended interruption. It includes two Eaton Pulsar units that use true online double-conversion topology with a pure sine wave output, plus an Eaton Powerware FERRUPS for heavier centralized loads. The range spans a compact 1000 VA / 900 W rack/tower convertible up to a 7000 VA / 5000 W floor-standing FERRUPS, so you can size a unit to a single server or networking rack, a small comms room, or a heavier centralized load. These systems sit at the protection end of Eaton's lineup, suited to IT, facilities, and operations buyers choosing a UPS for servers, network gear, storage, medical and lab equipment, and other sensitive electronics.

VA vs. watts. A UPS is rated in both volt-amps (VA) and watts (W). Watts is the real power your equipment actually draws; VA is the apparent power. Size to your equipment's watt draw first and leave headroom, then confirm the VA rating also clears your load. In this collection the watt figure runs from 900 W on the 1000 VA Pulsar up to 5000 W on the 7000 VA FERRUPS.
Runtime expectations. The runtimes shown are at full load; a UPS run at half load typically lasts considerably longer. The units in this collection are designed for ride-through and graceful shutdown rather than long-duration runtime, so plan for the minutes you need to either survive a short outage or shut systems down cleanly.
Topology. The two Pulsar units use online double-conversion, the most protective UPS topology: the output waveform is continuously regenerated, so there is no transfer time and connected gear sees clean, regulated, pure sine wave power at all times. The Powerware FERRUPS is a larger floor-standing system built for heavier centralized loads; check its product page for the exact topology, output, and ratings of that unit. All of these systems are aimed at servers, storage, medical, and lab equipment that is sensitive to power quality.
Rack vs. tower. The two Pulsar models are tower/rack convertible (2U and 3U), letting you stand them upright on the floor or mount them in a 19-inch rack. The FERRUPS is a floor-standing tower for heavier loads. Match the form factor to where the unit will live.
These are genuine Eaton UPS systems, stocked and shipped from our Canadian warehouse, with Canadian-based support to help you size and order the right unit. Warranty terms vary by model, so check the individual product page for the coverage on the unit you are considering.

What topology do the Pulsar units use?
The two Eaton Pulsar units use online double-conversion, in which incoming AC is continuously converted to DC and back to AC so the output is fully regenerated, with no transfer time and a clean, regulated pure sine wave. The Eaton Powerware FERRUPS is a larger floor-standing unit; check its product page for that unit's exact topology and ratings.
Can these UPS systems be rack mounted?
The two Pulsar units (PULSI1000R-XL2U and PULSML2200-XL3U) are tower/rack convertible at 2U and 3U respectively, so they can be mounted in a 19-inch rack or stood upright. The FERRUPS model is a floor-standing tower.
How long will the UPS run during an outage?
Runtime depends on how heavily the unit is loaded. The figures on each product page are quoted at full load; running below full load extends runtime. These systems are intended for ride-through and clean shutdown rather than long-duration backup.
How do I pick between the models?
Add up the watt draw of the equipment you want to protect, add headroom, and choose a model whose watt rating clears that figure, then confirm the VA rating and the form factor (rack vs. tower) suit your installation.
Are these genuine Eaton units?
Yes. Every system in this collection is genuine Eaton hardware, shipped from our Canadian warehouse.

Shop the Eaton Pulsar lineup — the legacy double-conversion online UPS deployed across data centers, broadcast facilities, and lab environments before the 9PX/9SX rebrand. Models include Eaton Pulsar (PULSI1000R-XL2U), Pulsar 2100VA (PULSML2200-XL3U), Pulsar M 3000 (PULSMI3000-XL2U), Pulsar EX 1000VA Tower (PULSL1000T), Pulsar EX 1500VA Tower (PULSL1500T), Pulsar EX 1000VA Rack (PULSL1000R-XL2U), Pulsar EX RT 2.2KVA (PULSMI2200-XL2U) plus matching MGE-rebranded Pulsar variants.
Pulsar highlights: double-conversion online topology, pure sinewave output, IEC 60320 C20 outlets on rack-mount models, NEMA 5-20P input on Pulsar 2100VA, 120/230V dual-input on EX models. Pulsar was MGE Office Protection's online UPS before the 2007 Eaton acquisition — functionally similar to current 9PX but with simpler management.
