What is a Tripp Lite UPS replacement battery?

Every Tripp Lite UPS uses sealed lead-acid (SLA) cartridges in a defined Tripp Lite part number, the RBC series for tower and rack/tower cartridges (for example RBC1500, RBC92-2U, RBC94-2U and RBC96-3U) and the BP series for external battery packs that snap onto the UPS for runtime extension. The cartridge or pack number is on the unit label and listed in the user manual.

FAQ

What does RBC mean?

Replacement Battery Cartridge: Tripp Lite's part-numbering for factory-approved cartridges. Suffix indicates cartridge generation and form (e.g. RBC94-2U for a 2U rack-mount cartridge).

How do I confirm the cartridge for my SMART1500LCD?

SMART1500LCD takes RBC1500 (Tripp Lite data sheet). Verify on the unit label. The OMNIVS1500XL uses replaceable internal batteries (see its manual).

Aftermarket vs factory?

For in-warranty units, factory may be required. Out-of-warranty: a compatible cartridge matched on voltage, capacity and connectors is the usual choice.

Hot-swap?

Yes on most current SmartPro and SmartOnline SU-series models.

External battery packs?

BP-series packs on XL variants of SmartPro and SmartOnline.

Disposal?

SLA: municipal hazardous-waste depot, Call2Recycle, or ship back to us with new cartridge.
