About this UPS
APC / Schneider Electric MGE Galaxy 3500 three-phase UPS — series hub. The MGE Galaxy 3500 is APC's rugged three-phase tower UPS for industrial and facility loads — double-conversion online with integrated battery modules, sized 10 to 30 kVA. Its runtime is set by the battery configuration you choose (the F2/F3/F4 in the reference): we stock nine configurations and publish their measured runtimes below. Turnkey supply: equipment, freight, licensed installation, batteries and commissioning in one quote — request yours, call 438-881-3363, or compare families in the three-phase UPS guide.

Where the MGE Galaxy 3500 fits
How the MGE Galaxy 3500 compares
The rugged industrial classic: a massive installed base and per-configuration published runtimes; for new builds the Galaxy VS is its modern successor — we quote both when the choice is open. Undecided between families? Start from the three-phase UPS family guide.
Runtime & expansion — batteries, cabinets, bypass
Unusually for this class, the Galaxy 3500's runtime is baked into the model you buy — more internal battery modules (F2 → F3 → F4) mean longer holds. Published runtimes per stocked configuration:
| Configuration | Half load | Full load | |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 kVA F3 | 1 h 34 min | 38.8 min | View → |
| 10 kVA F4 | 2 h 13 min | 56.3 min | View → |
| 15 kVA F4 | 1 h 09 min | 27.7 min | View → |
| 20 kVA F2 | 22.2 min | 7.1 min | View → |
| 20 kVA F3 | 33.2 min | 11.9 min | View → |
| 20 kVA F4 | 48.5 min | 18.8 min | View → |
| 30 kVA F3 | 19.1 min | 5.7 min | View → |
| 30 kVA F4 | 28.3 min | 9.8 min | View → |
Runtimes are the manufacturer's published figures for new batteries at nominal conditions.
Turnkey: from quote to running system
- Tell us the requirement — model or just load, runtime and site details.
- One configured quote — UPS, batteries/cabinets, bypass, freight, installation and commissioning together.
- We do the hard work — logistics, rigging, licensed electricians, startup, and preventive maintenance afterward. Replacing equipment? We buy back working units.
Common questions
How much runtime does an MGE Galaxy 3500 give?
It depends on the battery configuration in the reference: at 20 kVA, the F2 config holds about 7 minutes at full load, the F4 about 19 minutes — and roughly triple those figures at half load. The table above lists APC's published numbers per stocked model.
Is the Galaxy 3500 still a sound purchase?
It has a huge industrial installed base, batteries and service remain available, and for like-for-like replacement it avoids re-engineering the electrical room. For new builds we'll also quote its modern successor so you can compare.
Which battery configuration should I choose?
Start from the hold time your process needs: enough to ride through short outages, or enough to bridge a generator start with margin. We match the F-configuration to that number instead of overselling battery.
Do you install and commission it?
Yes — turnkey: freight, positioning, licensed electrical connection, startup and load testing in one quote. We do the hard work.
How do pricing and lead time work on three-phase systems?
Three-phase systems are quoted, not carted: pricing depends on configuration, batteries, freight class and installation scope. Send the requirement and you get a firm, itemized quote — and honest availability for each option before you commit.
Do you supply and install outside major cities?
Yes — supply, freight and installation are coordinated wherever the site is, through our network of licensed electricians and riggers. Remote and industrial sites are quoted with site logistics included.

How long it'll keep your equipment up.
Manufacturer-specified runtime at typical loads. Real-world figures depend on battery age, ambient temperature, and load profile.

Before you order
How do I know this UPS will run my equipment?
Add up the wattage draw of every device you'll plug in (servers, switches, monitors). The UPS's wattage rating — not VA — is the number that matters. Aim for the UPS to run at 60–70% of capacity at full load: this gives headroom for inrush current and a meaningful runtime margin. Email us your equipment list and we'll size the right UPS within one business hour.
What's covered by the warranty, and how long does it last?
New units carry the full manufacturer warranty registered to you on receipt. The manufacturer handles claims directly via their North American support channel. Refurbished units are covered by our own 1-year UPSPLUSBATTERY warranty handled in-house in Canada.
Can I extend runtime beyond what's shown above?
Many Smart-UPS-class models accept an external battery pack (XBP) connected to the rear battery port. If this UPS shows "Extended Runtime Capable: Yes" in the spec grid above, an XBP is supported. Compatible XBPs and the runtime gain they deliver vary by model — contact us if you don't see the right XBP in our catalogue.
