About this UPS

APC / Schneider Electric Galaxy VX three-phase UPS — series hub. The Galaxy VX is hyperscale-adjacent power protection: 500 kVA to 1.5 MVA frames, many stocked in scalable configurations (buy 500 kVA in a 1000 kVA frame and grow in place) and N+1 redundant variants. Seventeen configurations are stocked — a bench depth few independent suppliers carry at this rating. Turnkey supply: equipment, freight, licensed installation, batteries and commissioning in one quote — request yours, call 438-881-3363, or compare families in the three-phase UPS guide.

How the Galaxy VX compares

The top of the stocked range: half a megawatt to 1.5 MVA, with scalable and N+1 frames that make the ten-year capacity plan a configuration choice instead of a construction project. Undecided between families? Start from the three-phase UPS family guide.

Runtime & expansion — batteries, cabinets, bypass

At this scale, runtime and redundancy are engineering exercises: battery systems are designed per hold-time target, and the scalable/N+1 frame variants above set the growth and fault-tolerance path. The frame you choose is a ten-year decision — the stocked scalable variants keep it open.

Turnkey: from quote to running system

  1. Tell us the requirement — model or just load, runtime and site details.
  2. One configured quote — UPS, batteries/cabinets, bypass, freight, installation and commissioning together.
  3. We do the hard work — logistics, rigging, licensed electricians, startup, and preventive maintenance afterward. Replacing equipment? We buy back working units.

Common questions

What does 'scalable to' mean on Galaxy VX models?

The frame is built for the higher rating and populated to the lower one — a 500 kVA scalable-to-1000 unit grows to 1 MVA by adding power capacity in place, without replacing the frame or reworking the electrical room.

Can you actually deliver and install at this scale?

Yes — that's the point of the turnkey model: engineered proposal, freight and rigging, electrical-room coordination, licensed installation, battery system build-out and witnessed commissioning, managed as one project.

VRLA or lithium batteries at megawatt scale?

Both are viable: VRLA wins on capital cost, lithium on footprint, weight and calendar life. At these ratings the trade-off is a real engineering study — we run it with your numbers as part of the proposal.

What about the system being replaced?

Decommissioning, battery recycling and buyback of working hardware are folded into the project quote — one team owns the swap end to end.

How do pricing and lead time work on three-phase systems?

Three-phase systems are quoted, not carted: pricing depends on configuration, batteries, freight class and installation scope. Send the requirement and you get a firm, itemized quote — and honest availability for each option before you commit.

Do you supply and install outside major cities?

Yes — supply, freight and installation are coordinated wherever the site is, through our network of licensed electricians and riggers. Remote and industrial sites are quoted with site logistics included.

Frequently asked

Before you order

How do I know this UPS will run my equipment?

Add up the wattage draw of every device you'll plug in (servers, switches, monitors). The UPS's wattage rating — not VA — is the number that matters. Aim for the UPS to run at 60–70% of capacity at full load: this gives headroom for inrush current and a meaningful runtime margin. Email us your equipment list and we'll size the right UPS within one business hour.

What's covered by the warranty, and how long does it last?

New units carry the full manufacturer warranty registered to you on receipt. The manufacturer handles claims directly via their North American support channel. Refurbished units are covered by our own 1-year UPSPLUSBATTERY warranty handled in-house in Canada.

Can I extend runtime beyond what's shown above?

Many Smart-UPS-class models accept an external battery pack (XBP) connected to the rear battery port. If this UPS shows "Extended Runtime Capable: Yes" in the spec grid above, an XBP is supported. Compatible XBPs and the runtime gain they deliver vary by model — contact us if you don't see the right XBP in our catalogue.
