Compatible replacement batteries for the Eaton Powerware PW9120 line of uninterruptible power supplies. Every kit is matched to a specific PW9120 model and shipped from our Canadian warehouse. Confirm your exact UPS model below and the product grid lists the voltage and amp-hour rating for each kit.
The Eaton Powerware PW9120 is an online double-conversion UPS sold in several VA ratings, from the smaller PW9120-700 and PW9120-1000 through the PW9120-1500, PW9120-2000 and PW9120-3000. Like nearly all UPS systems in this class, it stores energy in sealed lead-acid (SLA / VRLA) batteries. The batteries in this collection are compatible replacement kits matched to specific PW9120 models so you can restore full runtime without replacing the unit.
Each PW9120 model uses one or more 12-volt sealed lead-acid cells wired in series (and sometimes parallel) to reach the internal DC bus voltage the UPS needs. Smaller models use fewer cells; larger VA ratings use more. Because of this, a "battery kit" for one PW9120 model is not interchangeable with another even though the individual cells look similar. We sell the kit as the correct set for each model so the cell count, voltage and capacity match what your UPS expects.
The single most reliable way to order is to match the exact model and revision printed on your UPS. The PW9120 family includes manufacturing-date variants (units built before 1/1/06 versus after 1/1/06) and international "i" variants such as the PW9120-1000i and PW9120-1500i, and these can call for different kits. Read the label on the front or rear of your unit, find the matching product in the grid above, and confirm the listed voltage and amp-hour rating before you buy. Do not assume a number from a similar model.
You can buy batteries branded by the original equipment manufacturer or compatible aftermarket replacements. Genuine OEM cartridges arrive in Eaton packaging and are priced accordingly. Aftermarket SLA batteries from established cell makers meet the same physical and electrical specifications (12V, matched amp-hour rating, same terminal type and footprint) at a lower cost. Both work in the UPS as long as the voltage, capacity, terminal and dimensions match. The kits here are aftermarket compatible replacements.
SLA UPS batteries typically last 3 to 5 years. Heat is the biggest factor: as a rule of thumb, every roughly 8 C (about 15 F) of sustained temperature above 25 C (77 F) can cut usable life roughly in half. Keep the UPS in a cool, ventilated spot, and test or replace proactively rather than waiting for a failed self-test or a dropped load.
A note on hot-swapping: hot-swapping batteries while the UPS keeps running is only appropriate for units designed for it, such as rack-mount, online/double-conversion and certain models with user-replaceable battery modules. It is not appropriate for desktop or consumer style units. If you are unsure whether your unit supports hot-swap, power it down before replacing the batteries.
How do I know which kit fits my UPS? Match the exact model and revision on your unit's label to the product in the grid, then confirm the voltage and amp-hour rating shown on that product.
Are aftermarket batteries safe to use? Yes. A compatible SLA battery that matches the voltage, capacity, terminal and dimensions works the same as the OEM cell.
How long will the new batteries last? Typically 3 to 5 years, shorter in hot environments.
Can I replace the batteries while the UPS is running? Only on units built for hot-swap. Power down units that are not designed for it first.
Do I have to use a full kit? Yes. Replace all cells in the set together so they age uniformly; mixing old and new cells shortens overall life.

Replacement battery banks for Eaton Powerware 9120 Series UPS — the rack-mount or tower line-interactive UPS deployed for server cabinets and small data center loads in the 700VA to 6000VA range. Models supported include 9120-Batt700, 9120-Batt1000, 9120-Batt1500, 9120-Batt2000, 9120-Batt3000, 9120-Batt5000, 9120-Batt6000 and matching internal/external battery modules.
9120 Series cartridges follow Eaton's modular architecture — multiple SLA 12V 7Ah cells per kit, with hot-swap capability on most models. Always check the Powerware/Eaton service tag (commonly 9120-BATTPACK-XXXX or 5119-XXXX-XXX) on your existing battery before ordering. Newer Powerware 9120 systems were rebranded as Eaton 9130 after the 2007 acquisition.
Recommended swap window: 3-5 years per IEEE 1188. For commissioning, runtime testing, or migration from 9120 to current Eaton 9PX/9SX platforms contact Eaton Service Canada or GDF Technologies. Use the runtime calculator to right-size before swap.
