What an extended battery module does

An extended battery module (EBM) is an external battery pack that plugs into a compatible UPS to multiply its runtime. The UPS keeps managing the power; the EBM simply adds capacity, so a few minutes of internal runtime can become 30 minutes, an hour, or more — enough to ride through longer outages or shut systems down cleanly.
