How to choose

1. Match the UPS model

Rail kits are engineered for specific UPS families — a kit for one model won't fit another. Check your UPS model label first.

2. Rack type and depth

Confirm 2-post vs 4-post and the rack's mounting depth. Heavy UPS/EBM units generally need 4-post rails or a shelf, not just front ears.

3. Weight support

UPS and battery modules are heavy — use rails or shelves rated for the unit's weight; don't hang a heavy unit from front brackets alone.

Installation & specs

Kits mount to standard 19" (EIA-310) racks. Rails attach to the rack posts and the chassis; shelves bolt across the posts. Confirm rack depth and free U-space, and rack the heaviest units (UPS, EBMs) low for stability.

Are rail kits model-specific?

Yes — rails are matched to the UPS family and size. Order the kit listed for your exact model.

2-post or 4-post?

Light units can mount on 2-post with brackets; heavier UPS and EBMs need 4-post rails or a shelf for proper support.

Can I rack a tower UPS?

Only convertible (rack/tower) models can be racked, using the matching conversion kit. A tower-only UPS isn't designed for rack rails.

How much weight can a shelf hold?

Check the shelf's rated load and keep heavy units low in the rack. If unsure, send us your UPS and rack details.
