Who may change a UPS battery
The makers' manuals describe the battery swap step by step, and they also say who should do it. Tripp Lite's SmartPro manual says battery replacement should only be performed by qualified personnel. Eaton's 9PX manual says servicing should be performed by qualified service personnel knowledgeable of batteries and the required precautions. On a three-phase system such as the Galaxy VS, Schneider Electric says servicing of batteries must only be performed or supervised by qualified personnel.
Read the battery section of your manual first. If nobody on site matches what it asks for, treat the replacement as a service job.
