An Eaton 5PX 3000 is due for a battery. Read the label first: if it says G2, the model is a second generation 5PX, and the 3000 takes one battery pack: 72 volts, six 12 volt 9 amp hour batteries wired in series. Eaton's own pack for the G2 is the EBP 1617. This video shows what the pack is, what the manual says before you start, how the swap works, and the test after. UPS Plus Battery carries the G1 set, and a compatible set for the EBP 1617 on the G2. Both are six 12 volt, 9 amp hour batteries: the same rating as Eaton's specification. The links are below. You need a few minutes. Our advice: rubber gloves and insulated tools. These are illustrations. Follow your UPS's manual. The G2 manual is specific. Replace with the same type and number of batteries. And after 4 years of operation, the UPS will provide a battery replacement notification on its own. The G2 is a hot swap design: the manual says the batteries can be replaced without turning off the UPS or disconnecting the load. A Phillips screwdriver takes the front panel off, and the connectors separate by hand: never pull on the wires. The metal cover comes off with three screws, and the pack slides out on its plastic tab. Work through the manual's steps in that order. One check before you buy: the older 5PX, without G2 on the label, uses a different Eaton pack. Read the label first.
