Backup time varies according to load, but the INTERNET600U should keep an energy-efficient desktop computer with small LCD monitor powered as long as 16 minutes. During normal operation, incoming utility power keeps the replaceable internal battery fully charged, so backup power will always be available.

Five 5-15R outlets provide battery backup and surge protection for your computer, monitor and other crucial components. The other five 5-15R outlets provide surge suppression only for printers, speakers and other desktop equipment regarded as non-essential during a blackout. Add up the wattage draw of every device you'll plug in (servers, switches, monitors). The UPS's wattage rating — not VA — is the number that matters. Aim for the UPS to run at 60–70% of capacity at full load: this gives headroom for inrush current and a meaningful runtime margin. What's covered by the warranty, and how long does it last?
