About Minuteman CP / MM Series Replacement Batteries

Minuteman replacement batteries

Minuteman (Para Systems) UPS — spanning the CP, PRO, MBK, EnterprisePlus and MM series — protect desktops, networking and light server loads. Their sealed lead-acid (VRLA) batteries wear out after about 3–5 years; fresh batteries restore full runtime. Use this page to find the right battery for your exact Minuteman model.

For the full range see Minuteman UPS batteries.

Battery type

Minuteman models use 6 V or 12 V VRLA batteries, with capacity ranging widely by model (roughly 7 Ah to 18 Ah), and larger units use several in series. Because the configuration varies across the range, match by your exact model number (e.g. PRO500E, MBK680, MSU-1400) or the Minuteman battery part number (e.g. B00009) rather than by VA alone.

How to identify the right battery

Find the model number on the rear or bottom label. Select the matching battery below, or send us your model number and we'll confirm the correct pack — usually within 1 business day.

Genuine vs compatible aftermarket

Both restore full runtime. Compatible aftermarket batteries match the OEM form factor and terminals, built from quality VRLA cells, and cost less, with a 1-year UPSPLUSBATTERY warranty.

How long does it last?

3–5 years at 20–25 °C; heat roughly halves life for every ~8 °C above 25 °C. See when to replace a UPS battery.

How to replace

  1. Confirm the correct battery for your model.
  2. Power down the UPS if your manual requires it.
  3. Open the battery compartment or tray.
  4. Disconnect the old battery and remove it.
  5. Fit the new battery (or set), reconnect observing polarity, and close up.
  6. Recharge and run a self-test.

FAQ

What battery does my Minuteman UPS use?

A 6 V or 12 V VRLA battery (or several in series), with capacity varying by model. Match by exact model or Minuteman part number.

Can I cross-reference by the B-number?

Yes — Minuteman battery kits carry part numbers like B00009; send us yours and we'll match it.

How often should I replace it?

Every 3–5 years; sooner in warm spaces.

Replacement battery cartridges for Minuteman CP and MM Series UPS — the line-interactive and online double-conversion UPS deployed in industrial control rooms, telecom shelters, and mission-critical IT environments. Models supported include MM500-CP/1, MM500-CP/2, MM1000-CP/1, MM1000-CP/2, MM2000-CP/2, MM3000-CP/1, MM3000-CP/2, CP-1KA, CP-1K/2, CP-2K/2, CP-3000, CP-3000-B, CP-10000, CP-10K/2, CP-12500 and matching M-MM-prefix replacement battery kits.

Minuteman CP cartridges are typically 12V 7-9Ah SLA cells in 4-cell, 8-cell, or 16-cell strings depending on capacity (DC bus 48V to 192V). Always confirm the cartridge part number on your existing battery before ordering — MM-series and CP-series have model-specific cartridge configurations that are not interchangeable.

Recommended swap window: 3-5 years per IEEE 1188; industrial environments often run hotter than rated and benefit from earlier replacement (Arrhenius rule cuts SLA life nearly in half every +10°C).
